Transformation of the Month- May

I had headaches, backaches, bad posture, and bad balance.  I struggled pretty badly.  In school, I would get migraines, forcing me to have to go home because I felt so bad.  This made my grades suffer.  I also struggled in sports.  I couldn’t run fast when I played baseball, basketball, and football.

Well, I always had bad balance and it would affect my running.  I began having headaches, migraines, and backaches in 5th grade football.  I have lived with these problems for 7 years.  I was born with minor problems but when I played football in 5th grade, it threw me further out of whack.  When it was at its worst, I felt terrible and never wanted to get out of bed.  I didn’t want to work out, nothing.

I tried using medications to fix my problems and other chiropractors.  The results failed.  I took over 5 migraine pills in one day if I had to and Motrin for my back.

I didn’t want to do anything but play videogames lying down in my room alone.  I didn’t want to work out, so I gained weight.  When I did want to do something about my weight, I went to Fitness Together and they referred me to Dr. Ben.  Since I have been coming to Complete Care Chiropractic, I have better posture, better balance, and no more headaches or backaches.  It’s improved my life greatly.

Dr. Ben is great.  He is the best chiropractor ever.  Kara is the best too.  They both are really nice and help me with my problems.  If you are iffy on the whole chiropractor adjusting your back, don’t be.  You will have results and you will be part of the chiropractic family.

Don’t allow your spine to rot due to a lack of maintenance!

YouTube Preview Image

Maintain your spine with regular chiropractic adjustments, much like you maintain your car with oil changes, tune-ups and keeping the tires in alignment.  Your spine is supposed to be straight up and down from the back and have 3 curves from the side in order for optimum health and function.  Not all chiropractors are alike.  Although they go by the same name not all chiropractors deliver the appropriate care to return the spine towards a more normal position to offer long-term benefits.

Have your spine evaluated even if you FEEL good.  Problems develop through years of neglect without signs and symptoms.

Call 918-272-8054 or email us for a FREE evaluation for you and your family.

Doctors told Rick Hoyt’s parents that he would live in a vegetative state for the duration of his life because he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth.  They wouldn’t take this as an answer.  With the help of Tufts University, at the age of 12, Rick was able to learn how to use a special computer to learn how to communicate using movements from his head.  With his first typed words being, “Go Bruins,” the family recognized his interest in sports.  The father/son team, now known across the world as Team Hoyt, entered their first race in 1977.  As of September 2009, Team Hoyt has participated in 1009 events, including 234 triathlons (6 of which were Iron Man competitions), 21 Duathlons, and 67 Marathons.  They have also biked and run across the USA on a journey that took 45 days and lasted for 3,735 miles.  Dick Hoyt pulls his son in a special boat while they swim, carries him in a special seat up front while they bike, and pushes him in a special wheelchair as they run.  When asked one thing that Rick wished he could give his father, his reply was, “The thing I’d most like is that my dad would sit in the chair and I would push him once.”

Allergy Season??? Think again….

Unlike medical care that simply aims to mask the symptoms(runny nose, watery eyes) of allergies, Chiropractic care works by detecting and correcting the underlying causes.  As Jay stated, the immune system has the capacity to fight off all foreign invaders(bacteria, virus etc.) that could potentially make us sick.

The thing is, we are all living under the same umbrella, yet not all of us have allergies or get sick.  We need to ask ourselves, “Why do I have allergies or get sick even though my family lives in the same home, breathes the same air and eats the same food as I do?”  Simply, if pollen in the air were responsible for allergies, we would all have the same allergies.  Pollen is no more the cause of allergies than gray hair is the cause of old age.

Allergies are a symptom of an underlying weakened immune system.  Chiropractic care works by removing interference to the nervous system thereby improving function of the immune system and the entire body.  The nervous system controls all systems of the body.

When is the last time you had your spine and nervous system checked?

Recipe: Almond Cookies

These are a great way to satisfy the sweet tooth without the harmful effects of sugar and flour.

Servings:  Makes 10-12 cookies.

Ingredients:

2 Cups Finely Ground Almond Powder (Put 2 cups almonds in food processor and process until the consistency of flour)

1/4 Cup Xylitol

1 Tablespoon Almond Extract

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

2 Eggs (Free Range, Organic)

1 Pinch of Sea Salt

1.5-2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  First, process almonds in food processor until they look like flour.  Next, add remaining ingredients to processor and mix until all ingredients are combined well.  Scoop out a portion of cookie batter, shape it into a ball, and place on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.  Bake for 12-20 minutes, depending on size of cookies, until they start to brown slightly.  Allow the cookies to cool completely before removing them from the pan, otherwise they fall apart.

Transformation of the Month- March

I was seeing the previous doctor when Dr. Ben bought his practice.  I walked into Complete Care Chiropractic and my life changed completely.

When I first became a patient of Dr. Ben’s it was very hard for me to walk without pain.  It was very hard for me to breath.  I had a problem with bronchitis, asthma, pain in my lower back, migraine headaches and an acid reflux problem.  I was on 3 prescriptions for asthma and bronchitis, 1 for acid reflux, and 2 for anxiety and stress.  I am no longer taking the meds for asthma, migraine headaches, and acid reflux.  These results did not happen overnight.  Through a regimen of change in my diet, exercise, and seeing Dr. Ben regularly, I see a remarkable change in my total well-being.

One of the things that really impressed me is the fact that Dr. Ben and Kara area always available to see you.  They make you feel that you are very special.  One morning I awoke with the beginning of a migraine.  I drove by the office, saw they were still there, went in, and Dr. Ben immediately gave me an adjustment.  Needless to say, the headache went away.  You do not find doctors and an office team that take such personal interest in you like Dr. Ben and Kara.  It has always been so easy to share with others how much better I feel since being under the care of Dr. Ben.

I have also been helped with Dr. Ben’s seminars, his movie nights on nutrition that have helped me make changes to my diet, and the many resources he provided me with to make educated decisions about my health.

I can’t begin to share just how much my life has changed for the better…but you can see it in my smile.
